About the Role

Marsh McLennan's Compliance team is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer with an Insurance Broker/Insurer background to join their London office. This role will partner with Marsh UK Corporate and Commercial business to provide oversight and advice on compliance policies, procedures, systems, controls, and governance. The position includes managing one direct report.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor and point of contact for regulatory or governance queries, providing guidance to the business.
  • Attend business and governance meetings to provide Compliance updates on regulatory developments, risks, and actions.
  • Develop effective policies and procedures in collaboration with the business to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide Compliance advice and challenge to colleagues on business or functional issues and risks, including new business models, products, and processes.
  • Promote open communication between Compliance and the business regarding current Compliance initiatives and projects.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory developments, assess impacts, and advise on challenges and implementation.
  • Collaborate with the Advisory team, assisting other members and sharing information.
  • Manage and develop one direct report.

Requirements

  • Experience in Compliance within an Insurer or Broker.
  • Proven track record in building strong and constructive relationships with business leaders.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of the FCA Handbook – Principles, Rules and Guidelines.
  • Commercial awareness and focus on the proportionate application of regulation within the insurance industry.
  • Strong and confident communicator (verbal and written).
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
