About the Role
The Learning Experience – Bushwick is seeking a caring and experienced Lead Toddler Teacher to guide their young toddler classroom. This role focuses on supporting children during a critical developmental stage by creating a nurturing environment that encourages language development, exploration, confidence, and secure relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who enjoys leading a classroom while making a lasting impact on young children's earliest learning experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily classroom routines for children ages 12–24 months
- Implement developmentally appropriate activities using the L.E.A.P. Curriculum
- Support children's language, social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
- Mentor assistant teachers and promote classroom consistency
- Build strong partnerships with families through daily communication
- Maintain compliance with New York State and NYC licensing requirements
Requirements
- Candidates with 5+ years of classroom experience and a high school diploma will also be considered
- Previous toddler classroom experience preferred
- Strong understanding of child development and responsive caregiving
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- Must meet New York State and NYC childcare licensing requirements
