About the Role
As a Clubhouse Supervisor at Get Golfing CIO’s Hampton Court Palace Golf Club, you will play a pivotal leadership role in delivering outstanding hospitality across the clubhouse, bar, dining areas, and events spaces. You will oversee daily front-of-house operations, lead and develop the Food & Beverage team, and ensure every member and guest receives a warm, professional, and memorable experience. The role is central to achieving Get Golfing CIO's mission through exceptional service and team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and manage the Food & Beverage team, including rostering, training, performance management, and coaching.
- Support the Clubhouse Manager in the smooth running of all clubhouse operations, acting as the senior point of contact in their absence.
- Oversee the preparation and service of food and drinks, ensuring consistent quality, presentation, and compliance with regulations.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver seamless service for club events, weddings, corporate functions, tournaments, and private hire.
- Maintain an outstanding level of customer service, proactively resolving issues and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Ensure accurate order taking, efficient service flow, and timely delivery of food and beverages.
- Monitor and manage stock levels, place orders, control costs, and conduct regular stocktakes.
- Process transactions accurately via the POS system, handle payments, and assist with basic reporting.
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health & safety, ensuring compliance with food safety and licensing laws.
- Identify opportunities to enhance service, menu offerings, and operational processes.
- Work closely with the kitchen, events, maintenance, and management teams for a coordinated operation.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of proven supervisory or team-leader experience in a busy hospitality environment (golf club, hotel, country club, or premium restaurant/bar preferred).
- Strong, practical knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu service, bar management, responsible alcohol service, and cost control.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and executing successful events, functions, and large-scale service.
- Excellent people-management skills with the ability to lead, develop, and performance-manage a team.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm, professional, and customer-focused approach.
- Proficiency in POS systems, Microsoft Office, and basic stock/inventory software.
- Thorough understanding of food hygiene (Level 2 Food Safety or above), health & safety, and licensing regulations.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Full support for the Clubhouse Manager and a genuine commitment to the values of Get Golfing CIO.
- Previous experience working within a golf club or similar private-members environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of golf and its culture is desirable.
- Experience with event-management software or reservation systems is desirable.
- Food Safety Level 2 certification and/or Personal Licence is desirable.
- Supervisory or leadership qualification (e.g., Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor) is desirable.
