About the Role
This hands-on leadership role oversees Back of House and Front of House operations, including the café, bakery, barista, cheese, and bread departments. You’ll work alongside your team to deliver high-quality, fresh food and an exceptional guest experience. As a key leader, you’ll drive daily operations, ensure food quality and safety, manage production, and support strong financial and operational performance. You’ll also inspire and develop your team while maintaining a smooth, hospitality-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the BOH, Bakeshop and FOH teams, ensuring a collaborative, positive, and high-performing environment.
- Expectation of availability outside normal working hours during holiday seasons to oversee increased production.
- Train, mentor, and motivate Assistant Managers to hold staff accountable, provide feedback, deliver exceptional guest service, maintain cleanliness, and uphold food safety standards.
- Manage various aspects of the Prepared Foods departments, including staffing, scheduling, training, and performance.
- Ensure high standards of food safety, sanitation, and compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with the R&D Chef on seasonal offerings, promotions, and special events.
- Lead and inspire a team to consistently deliver high-quality prepared foods and exceptional customer service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming department environment.
- Manage inventory across departments.
- Ensures supplies, ingredients, and packaging are ordered accurately, balancing cost control with the need for quality and freshness.
- Reduce waste by implementing effective inventory rotation, portion control, and efficient ordering practices.
- Track sales, expenses, and other key performance indicators to ensure departments meet financial goals, including profitability and labor cost control.
- Prepare and analyze reports related to sales, inventory, and staffing, and adjust as needed to meet objectives.
Requirements
- At least 5 years management experience in a food service environment
- Previous culinary experience
- Previous guest service environment experience
- Knowledge of food procurement and inventory management
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment or equivalent
- Previous experience working with local, organic products and familiarity with standards regarding local, organic produces is preferred
