About the Role

As a Senior Consultant, you will deliver strategic and commercial consulting projects across the energy, Downstream and natural resources sectors. You will combine Wood Mackenzie’s industry-leading data, market intelligence, and analytical tools with your commercial insight to develop actionable recommendations for clients. You will apply comprehensive analysis, innovative thinking, and industry expertise to solve complex business challenges and support effective project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Support consulting engagements through advanced modelling, data analysis, and the development of innovative analytical approaches.
  • Contribute to the creation of high-quality client presentations and reports.
  • Gather, analyse, and interpret data from various internal and external sources.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Take ownership of project workstreams, delivering results independently and presenting findings with confidence.
  • Encourage creative problem solving by challenging assumptions and developing solutions.
  • Contribute ideas that enhance methodologies, offerings, and consulting best practices.
  • Communicate effectively through clear, professional written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Requirements

  • Experience (2 - 5 years) in consulting, strategy, commercial analysis, market intelligence, or a related analytical role.
  • Direct experience working in the energy and natural resources value chain is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Downstream, or broader natural resources sectors, with an understanding of industry dynamics, value chains, and the implications of the energy transition.
  • Familiarity with the commercial fundamentals of oil processing and conversion assets.
  • Experience in asset-level or market modelling tools is advantageous.
  • Interest in, and working knowledge of, how energy transition pressures are impacting existing industrial assets.
  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills, including data analysis, modelling, market assessment, and strategic evaluation.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Commercially minded, intellectually curious, and passionate about solving complex client challenges.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex information and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and capable of delivering results independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in market analysis, corporate strategy, market entry, valuation, or financial modelling within consulting or industry environments is advantageous.
