About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day client AV media performance.
  • Support the AV team in nurturing junior talent.
  • Drive value across the agency and client accounts.
  • Provide exposure to buying across international markets.
  • Ensure measurement and impact are considered for every plan.
  • Form strong relationships with key media owners to understand the market and negotiate value.
  • Communicate with clients and manage deadlines to ensure timely campaign launches.
  • Support on Clearcast approval when required.
  • Proactively remind about booking and creative deadlines.
  • Challenge existing industry practices and explore new ways of working.
  • Learn new skills such as programmatic AV buying.
  • Contribute ideas for planning campaigns and suggest new possibilities for clients.
  • Develop test & learn frameworks to improve channel performance.
  • Manage media investment and accounting, ensuring billing hygiene and effective revenue management.
  • Build strong relationships internally with planning, digital, and creative teams, and externally with clients and media partners.
  • Manage multiple campaigns, partners, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Prioritize workloads to meet deadlines and provide proactive progress updates.
  • Escalate KPI and delivery issues early.
  • Plan, buy, and negotiate Linear, BVOD, and SVOD across key AV systems.
  • Adhere to broadcast regulations (HFSS, gambling).
  • Track actual spend against budgets to prevent misallocation.
  • Ensure high numerical accuracy across media plans, invoicing, and reconciliation.
  • Actively contribute in meetings and share key channel updates.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships across internal teams.
  • Nurture media owner relationships.
  • Champion the agency’s Total Video Proposition.
  • Actively engage in wider agency initiatives.
  • Support responses to briefs with clear media plans.
  • Maintain strict NDA compliance.
  • Articulate ideas clearly.
  • Actively take on feedback.
  • Keep account leads informed of personal and campaign progress.
  • Coach and develop junior team members technically and personally.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of AV planning and buying experience within a media agency or broadcaster.
  • Proven track record managing successful campaigns across Linear TV and BVOD.
  • Hands-on experience in AV planning and buying, including campaign delivery and post-analysis across major UK media owners and platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of AV systems and tools such as Caria, TechEdge, Adwanted (formerly DEN).
  • Strong knowledge of industry research sources (BARB, RAJAR, Thinkbox, Touchpoints).
  • Good understanding of AV trading principles, pricing models and measurement approaches.
  • Experience in building strong relationships – both internally and externally.
  • Highly collaborative, organised and detail-orientated.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive and positive approach to problem solving and teamwork.
  • Experience in programmatic AV buying across DSPs such as The Trade Desk, Amazon or DV360.
  • Experience managing, with examples of coaching and developing junior team members.
