Responsibilities
- Focus primarily on litigation and arbitration matters.
- Litigation work will typically be before the Commercial Court in London but may involve coordinating proceedings in other jurisdictions.
- Arbitration work may be institutional (typically ICC, LCIA or SIAC), trade (typically GAFTA, FOSFA or RSA/SAL), ad hoc, or on LMAA Terms.
- Develop legal skills as a contract lawyer, particularly with respect to the sale, carriage, storage, and financing of goods.
- Gain exposure to a wide range of clients operating in the energy, metals, and soft commodities sectors.
- Broaden skillset to include drafting and advisory work.
Requirements
- Experience in litigation and arbitration.
- Experience with contract law, specifically concerning the sale, carriage, storage, and financing of goods.
- Ability to coordinate proceedings in other jurisdictions.
- Familiarity with institutional arbitration (ICC, LCIA or SIAC), trade arbitration (GAFTA, FOSFA or RSA/SAL), ad hoc, or LMAA Terms.
