About the Role
Lead the establishment of a first-class cost optimization function for building systems, influencing cost competitiveness throughout the entire lifecycle at the intersection of product development, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and construction.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the Cost Optimization strategy for Building Systems to ensure cost competitiveness, scalability, and value creation across the product portfolio.
- Co-develop and implement Design-to-Cost, Should-Costing, Value Engineering, and Target Costing methods in Product Development, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Construction.
- Systematically identify, evaluate, and prioritize cost optimization potentials for building systems, components, materials, and interfaces.
- Build transparent cost models and feedback loops to enable continuous learning from planned and actual costs.
- Lead and develop the Cost Optimization team, establishing clear standards, processes, and competencies to support company growth.
- Collaborate closely with leaders from Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Construction, and R&D to embed cost awareness in strategic and operational decisions.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in Cost Engineering, product costing, Value Engineering, cost optimization, or a comparable commercial leadership role, ideally in the construction or building supply industry.
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional cost reduction programs with measurable economic added value.
- Solid understanding of complex product and system cost structures, including materials, manufacturing processes, supply chains, and assembly/installation costs.
- Experience in building and leading teams, collaborating with senior stakeholders, and managing organizational change.
- Strong data-driven work approach and a solid understanding of digital tools, data analysis, and performance management systems.
- Regular travel readiness between our locations.
- Fluent English language skills.
