About the Role
This position will have a design or technical focus and be a member of our multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with design and technical leadership. You will be an integral part of project teams, with an initial assignment on a large healthcare facility at Mayo Clinic. Under direct supervision, you will assist in project execution throughout all phases.
Responsibilities
- Assist Senior Interior Designer and/or Project Manager with project goal execution through all phases.
- Assist in the development of design, including planning and 3D studies.
- Independently assist in the design development and documentation of interior spaces.
- Provide support for furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) selection, layout, and specifications.
- Produce drawings in conformance with project time, cost, and quality constraints.
- Identify, research, and apply building and life safety codes to interior design work.
- Prepare renderings and other presentation materials.
- Follow CannonDesign drawing standards.
- Participate in client meetings to gain client interaction and presentation experience.
- Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits and review of submittments and shop drawings.
- Mentor less experienced interior design staff and provide guidance in project document development.
- Actively participate and promote design quality.
- Understand proper application of materials.
- May perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field required.
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience required.
- Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
- Must be able to participate in the development of projects' technical or design characteristics and content.
- Strong creative design portfolio is essential.
- Strong communication, teamwork, presentation, graphics, and organizational skills are essential.
- Ability to handle multiple projects is essential.
- Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
- Professional business attire is required for all client meetings.
- Travel required.
