About the Role
As an AI Engineer, you will develop customized AI solutions for clients in the public sector, translating real-world requirements into scalable GenAI and LLM applications to automate and improve administrative processes. You will work in a strong, hands-on engineering team that embraces remote-first, collaborative decision-making, and ownership.
Responsibilities
- Develop GenAI and LLM solutions for automating complex administrative and testing processes (e.g., with Neo4j, LangGraph Agents, RAG approaches, or FastAPI).
- Work hands-on throughout the entire software lifecycle, from requirements analysis to productive implementation with the client or on our AI platform.
- Develop and operate scalable backend services for AI applications and integrate them into existing system landscapes.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams (Engineering, Business Analysts, Project Management, Security, Operations, Quality Assurance) and engage directly with clients.
- Actively contribute to the further development of our AI services, architectures, and best practices.
Requirements
- Degree in a relevant field or comparable qualification (e.g., apprenticeship or relevant practical experience).
- Several years of experience in software development, ideally as a Software or Backend Engineer, with very good Python skills.
- At least 2 years of practical experience in developing and operating productive GenAI or LLM applications, ideally in a project context.
- Experience in developing, integrating, and deploying GenAI or LLM applications into productive use.
- Solid software engineering know-how, particularly in architecture, API design, testing, and scalability.
- Experience with agile development processes.
- Experience collaborating with clients and various stakeholders.
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills.
