About the Role
We are looking for a talented and inquisitive Senior Software Engineer to join our ambitious, fast-growing, and transforming company. Based in London, you will be a key player in designing, building, and evolving our web-based football analytics platform. You will contribute to a broad range of product capabilities, working across backend services and frontend UX/UI, to help professional football teams analyze complex performance data intuitively and effectively. You will take ownership of features from design through implementation and deployment, contribute to technical decisions, and continuously improve code quality, architecture, and development practices.
Responsibilities
- Contribute substantially to the design, implementation and maintenance of efficient, reusable and reliable code.
- Help drive code quality, organisation and best practices throughout the development process.
- Actively participate in team engineering processes, design meetings and code reviews.
- Contribute to our test strategy by helping define test cases, authoring unit tests and driving automation.
- Bring a growth mindset to every task, sharing ideas and opinions with an attitude and appetite for improvement.
- Take ownership of tasks in a collaborative environment.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, designing, building, and operating production grade applications and services.
- Strong experience with Java / Spring Boot and a modern JavaScript / TypeScript framework such as Angular or React.
- Experience with Kotlin is a plus, but not required.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including data modelling, query design, and performance optimization.
- Strong understanding of API design, distributed systems, and client server architectures.
- Experience with automated testing, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and release automation.
- Ability to take ownership of features and technical solutions from architecture and implementation through to production and ongoing operation.
- Knowledge of Capacitor, Electron, RxDB, or offline capable application development is a plus.
