About the Role

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase, you will be an integral part of an agile team focused on enhancing, building, and delivering market-leading technology products securely, stably, and scalably. You will conduct critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond conventional approaches.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code and review/debug code written by others.
  • Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
  • Apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle tools, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to enhance automation value.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve software application and system operational stability.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for existing systems.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience (NAMR/APAC – India/LATAM/Hong Kong).
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience (EMEA/LATAM-Brazil).
  • Singapore follows local country guidance.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
  • Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
  • Practical cloud native experience.
