About the Role

The Facility Manager provides leadership and management for the overall operation of the Facility, ensuring the attainment of corporate and facility goals and compliance with government and regulatory agencies. This role serves as a business partner to the affiliated cement operation, a company representative to regulatory and government agencies, and a liaison with the community.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high housekeeping standard at all times.
  • Develop the budget for the facility and be accountable for results based on defined KPIs.
  • Directly responsible for facility operational expenditures and coordination of day-to-day activities.
  • Interface with Geocycle personnel, third party operating staff, site visitors, customers, and transporters.
  • Work with Geocycle sales personnel to determine acceptability of material, scheduling and customer service.
  • Ensure the proper analysis of received materials, handling and safety procedures for waste derived fuel, and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain an excellent working relationship with disposal outlets.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction for the Geocycle facility.
  • Responsible for training, development, and involvement of employees at the facility.
  • Plan major maintenance projects and develop capital investment recommendations.
  • Manage non-routine situations in the operation of the facility.
  • Submit purchase orders and blanket purchase order invoices for corporate approval.
  • Prepare and submit company reports as needed.
  • Participate and/or lead meetings including Daily SIC Meeting/Daily Managers Meeting, Weekly Tool box talks, AFR Council and Quarterly Quality Council Meeting.
  • Act as community relations representative on behalf of the facility.
  • Head local plant Recycling Program.
  • Serve as Data Management Representative, keeping all forms/documents up-to-date and facilitating audits.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Promote a culture of safety and exhibit safety behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 5 years of equivalent experience.
  • 3 - 5 years operational experience in a technical work environment related to waste management.
  • Three years of experience in a managerial position is required.
  • Technical skills in the hazardous waste fuel industry are preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Effective leadership, delegation, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Trustworthy and trusting of others.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and sound decision-making based on available information.
  • Flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Able to facilitate the collaboration of people in process area teams.
  • Initiative and self-starting abilities; willing to take action to resolve problems.
  • Customer focused, both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency for area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated planning, organizational, and project-management skills.
  • Capable of being a change agent and motivating others towards a vision of the future.
  • Must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including respirators.
  • Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Windows, Excel, Word, Power Point, Microsoft Project Management and SAP is preferred.
