About the Role

The Global AI Strategy & Portfolio Manager will drive the growth of BCG X's AI and Tech business for specific industries and functions. This role involves working with senior leaders to advance commercial priorities in AI & digital, and focusing investments on key digital & AI offerings for clients. The position requires strong executive stakeholder management, an entrepreneurial mindset, and analytical skills to provide recommendations in the rapidly evolving AI/Agentic, Business, and Tech landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Support the definition of priorities and activation plans for driving the AI business in a subset of practice areas.
  • Help shape the portfolio of digital & AI offers with senior leaders across BCG X and BCG.
  • Activate Go-to-Market (GTM) activities across Sectors, Functional Topics, and Regions.
  • Manage the ongoing management cadence with the AI leadership team.
  • Facilitate a strong partnership model between BCG X and BCG Industry/Functional Leaders, and share best practices.
  • Champion and support the shift toward agentic offers across Industries/Functions.
  • Programme manage the execution of AI priorities, including ownership of workstreams and launching scalable processes.
  • Strengthen people affiliation and community engagement.
  • Support investment prioritization decisions on AI & Tech to drive focus toward impactful commercial offers.
  • Drive deep-dive analyses across the portfolio by structuring ambiguous problems, analyzing data, and synthesizing insights.
  • Support alignment across Offer, Topic, and Sector Managers, Product Managers, and Tech Leads.
  • Identify trade-offs between GTM urgency, product innovation, and technical feasibility.
  • Support portfolio review forums and escalation pathways.
  • Adopt agentic developments to transform internal ways of working with AI & Tech.
  • Collaborate with Finance to analyze and report on practice area performance, including profitability.
  • Collaborate with the Go-to-Market team to support client narratives and marketing materials.
  • Work in a global and matrixed organization, collaborating across regions, industries, functions, and BCG X teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s Degree or equivalent in business, finance, engineering, or related field.
  • 6-8 years of relevant professional experience.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in strategy consulting at BCG (or equivalent), ideally as a Senior Associate/Consultant, or as a Lead-level Topic / Sector / Offer Manager (or equivalent).
  • Experience working effectively in a global environment with people at all organizational levels.
  • Strong experience in strategy development, problem solving, and generalist consulting.
  • Strong analytical skillset with the ability to work independently with large datasets, build robust analyses, and draw insight-driven conclusions in an ambiguous environment.
  • Proven ability to develop innovation approaches & processes in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong experience in strategic planning, execution, and programme management.
  • Proven ability to be proactive, highly organised and pragmatic – must be able to manage competing priorities, fragmentation, and multiple workstreams.
  • Strong PowerPoint, Excel, and presentation skills.
  • Good tech literacy, including familiarity with leveraging Claude/ChatGPT/Gemini or other Agentic tools day-to-day.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment in complex, matrixed, global organizations.
  • Strong business acumen: able to assess commercial value, build investment cases.
  • Good judgment and the ability to connect as a trusted peer across all levels.
  • Comfortable bringing structure, discipline, and clarity to fast-moving, ambiguous transformation efforts.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and multiple workstreams without losing focus on strategic outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex trade-offs to senior audiences.
  • Promotes growth mindset across team and demonstrates resilience under pressure.
  • Experience developing simple agentic tools.
  • Experience in management of a portfolio of products/AI-powered offers, with growing accountability for investment decisions and performance outcomes.
  • Knowledge of BCG industry/functional Practice Areas and/or BCG X.
