About the Role
This role offers a unique opportunity to advise a leading consulting firm in its transformation into a technology- and AI-enabled business. You will work on cutting-edge client engagements, shape innovative contracting approaches, and partner with senior business and technology leaders across Europe.
Responsibilities
- Lead the drafting, negotiating, and execution of a broad range of commercial agreements, including master services agreements, software, cloud, SaaS, AI-related, licensing, subcontractor, and partnership agreements, as well as internal matters.
- Take ownership of legal support for BCG's technology-enabled and AI-driven client engagements, partnering with case teams, clients, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop and negotiate pragmatic, innovative contracting solutions.
- Advise on commercial, AI, and digital technology-related legal matters, including intellectual property, licensing, confidentiality, competition law, compliance, governance, conflicts of interest, and AI-generated output ownership and use.
- Drive commercially sound contracting by applying BCG's risk management framework, enhancing contracting standards, policies, and processes, and considering evolving legal and regulatory developments.
- Act as a trusted legal advisor to business stakeholders across Central Europe with broader European exposure, providing pragmatic and solutions-oriented advice on commercial and transactional matters.
- Collaborate across BCG's Global Legal Team and other corporate functions to resolve complex legal issues and contribute to knowledge sharing, contracting templates, and legal playbooks.
- Leverage AI-enabled legal tools and contribute to the continuous evolution of technology-supported ways of working, legal innovation, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- German qualified lawyer / “Volljurist” (First and Second Staatsexamen)
- 5+ years of commercial contracting experience
- Meaningful international exposure is a plus
- Preferred to have worked in Germany as a fully qualified lawyer
- Strong law firm background considered
- Prior in-house experience a plus
- Native-level or business-fluent (written and spoken) German and English
- Additional European languages a plus
- Legal tech experience a plus
