About the Role

Leads Japan product strategy and integrated planning across multiple projects and indications, aligning with global teams and embedding Japan specific medical needs, regulatory pathways, and market dynamics. Ensures effective Japan Product Team (JPT) governance, proactive risk and opportunity management, and robust launch readiness. May lead multi product programs when assigned.

Responsibilities

• Co-develop Japan product strategy and options with the JPT, driving scenario and option analyses including sequencing and bundling, aligning with global teams, and ensuring early, ongoing collaboration with Commercial and Medical.
• Build and maintain cross-project plans tied to product objectives, managing critical paths and dependencies to deliver against time, quality, budget, and strategy.
• Lead product and project risk management with registers and mitigations, and design and operate JPT governance with clear decision rights, escalation, and stakeholder engagement including the GPT and governance bodies.
• Ensure Planit and reporting data quality to enable data-driven decisions, and support team performance and retrospectives.
• Facilitate TA-level strategy and cross-project risk and resource alignment to maximize value for multi-product programs such as cell therapy.
• Share best practices, build PM capabilities, support functional initiatives, and represent PM in key business improvements and training.

Requirements

• Leadership and project management in multi-disciplinary drug development.
• End-to-end knowledge of development, regulatory pathways, and launch readiness.
• Drug development outside Japan.
• Product-level strategy across multiple projects including sequencing and bundling for JNDA.
• Early Commercial and Medical collaboration.
• PMDA engagements including JPRS.
• JNDA strategy.
• Bachelor of Science in an appropriate discipline.
• PMP, MBA.
• Strategic influencing and decisive leadership that challenges assumptions, manages ambiguity, and drives strategy through to execution.
• Collaboration within a matrixed organization to motivate teams and enable balanced decision-making.
• Project management excellence in facilitation and governance design including core and extended team participation, decision rights, delegation, and escalation; proficiency with relevant tools and techniques.
• Effective problem and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to apply AI and automation to project management.
• Japanese: native equivalent/business level.
• English: Business level English.
