About the Role

Lead and manage a team responsible for automotive infotainment and connectivity testing throughout the verification and validation cycles for multiple projects targeting Japanese automotive OEMs. This role requires advanced project management skills and knowledge of vehicle infotainment and test management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team responsible for automotive infotainment/navigation testing and connectivity/V2X testing for multiple projects targeting Japanese automotive OEMs.
• Manage the delivery of test services in line with agreed schedules, budgets, and quality levels.
• Coordinate with the customer on all test team tasks, including defining test strategies, test execution, and reporting results, as well as booking and managing test tools, test benches, and test vehicles.
• Communicate closely with the customer and third-party partners involved in the project, holding regular meetings.
• Define and regularly update test plans, including resource allocation, test strategies, and timelines.
• Lead the creation, updating, review, and approval of test cases.
• Lead the test team in executing test cases, reviewing test results, creating test reports, and delivering outputs to the customer.
• Provide technical support and coaching to test engineers, participating in test environment setup, test case creation, and test execution.
• Offer technical support for troubleshooting issues that arise during testing.
• Report deviations from the plan, escalate critical issues or change requests, and design recovery plans and solutions.
• Evaluate proposals for innovation to improve test quality and efficiency.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive infotainment/navigation testing and/or automotive connectivity/V2X for automotive OEMs.
• Expertise in connectivity and V2X technologies, including mobile network infrastructure (4G/LTE and 5G).
• Advanced knowledge of automotive infotainment/IVI and navigation functions.
• Minimum 3 years of project management experience, including managing and tracking schedules, budgets, resources, and quality.
• Knowledge of project management tools (WBS, JIRA, Kanban boards, etc.).
• Experience in test management, including test planning and execution, timeline management, and quality and risk management, to ensure on-time delivery.
• Familiarity with test plan creation, various procedures, software release and version management, and development processes.
• Experience in creating and editing test cases.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage conflicts, explain technical issues, report on test status, and present findings.
• Knowledge of the Japanese automotive, infotainment, and navigation systems market.
• Knowledge of vehicle architecture and components.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering and vehicle electrical/electronic technology.
• Experience using vehicle diagnostic tools and test tools.
• Experience using vehicle data loggers (e.g., BluePirat, TTTech-DataLogger).
• Experience in troubleshooting and error investigation, including analysis of communication logs.
• Proficiency in ticket creation and document management using JIRA and Confluence.
• Bilingual in Japanese and English with strong communication skills (Japanese native or JLPT N1, English fluent).
