About the Role

UGL is seeking an experienced and technically capable HSE Advisor to support major telecommunications infrastructure projects. This role involves providing expert HSE guidance, driving continuous improvement in safety, environmental, and compliance performance, and supporting project teams in regional and remote locations.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain UGL's HSE Management System across national telecommunications projects.
  • Develop and review management plans, risk registers, SWMS and contractor management processes.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, incident investigations and assurance activities across project sites.
  • Support environmental compliance and risk management, including environmental controls for remote and regional work locations.
  • Lead emergency preparedness initiatives and partner with project teams to manage safety risks associated with isolated and remote work environments.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Work Health & Safety.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a high-risk industry.
  • Strong technical capability across HSE systems, compliance, risk management and contractor assurance.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting remote or geographically dispersed workforces, including emergency planning and response for isolated sites.
  • Experience managing environmental risks and controls across construction, infrastructure or telecommunications projects.
  • Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and high-risk construction activities.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Relevant screening checks will be conducted as part of the recruitment process. These may include a national criminal history check, an anti-money laundering (AML) check and a pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol screen.
