About the Role
Partner with leaders and teams across IAG to identify and reduce safety and wellbeing risks, strengthen capability, and support safe, healthy, and inclusive workplaces. Provide practical, specialist advice, help implement sustainable solutions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of IAG's safety and wellbeing performance and culture.
Responsibilities
- Partner with leaders and teams to manage health, safety, and wellbeing risks, including psychosocial risks.
- Provide practical specialist advice, strategies, and solutions aligned with IAG's Safety and Wellbeing policies, procedures, frameworks, and plans.
- Support leaders in building capability and taking accountability for managing routine safety and wellbeing matters.
- Provide guidance and investigate sensitive, complex, or high-risk incidents, and help leaders implement effective corrective actions and improvements.
- Conduct targeted audits, assessments, and reviews, and work with leaders to develop and implement risk management plans.
- Contribute to the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of IAG's safety and wellbeing strategy, programs, and integrated safety management system.
- Utilize data and insights to identify trends, emerging risks, and improvement opportunities, and provide clear and timely reporting to stakeholders.
- Engage and consult with leaders, People and Culture teams, Safety Champions, Risk teams, and external providers to support effective outcomes.
- Support the development and delivery of communications, tools, and learning that strengthen safety culture and enable people to work safely and well.
- Translate legislative and business requirements into practical actions that improve the employee experience while reducing risk.
Requirements
- At least five years of workplace health and safety experience, ideally in a complex corporate environment.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with leaders and teams to identify risks and implement practical, sustainable solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Australian work health and safety legislation and New Zealand health and safety at work legislation, including relevant regulations, codes of practice, and standards.
- Experience supporting the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety management systems, programs, and initiatives.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, or assurance activities and supporting incident investigations and corrective actions.
- The ability to influence, advise, and build trusted relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear, practical guidance.
- Experience delivering projects, change initiatives, presentations, or learning to diverse audiences.
- Strong judgment, organization, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage competing needs and escalate matters appropriately.
- A collaborative and improvement-focused approach, with a genuine commitment to creating safe, healthy, and inclusive workplaces.
