About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Chef to join the on-train team at Journey Beyond Rail Expeditions. You would be responsible for the high quality preparation and presentation of the Australian dining menu on board our trains.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of a unique menu, ensuring high quality and guest satisfaction
- Maintaining levels of stock and inventory
- Hygiene, cleanliness and general safety of all staff working in food preparation areas
- Compliance with HACCP
Requirements
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- Minimum 3 years industry experience in a fast-paced culinary environment
- Current Senior First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work physically demanding roles, including standing for long periods and working in confined spaces
- Willingness to work away from home for up to 7 days at a time, on a one-week on, one week-off roster cycle
- Professionalism and immaculate personal presentation
