About the Role
Join Cisco's Solutions Engineering team to help transform the UKI Media & Service Provider business. You will work with leading broadcasters and sports organizations, shaping the industry's transition towards IP, cloud, automation, and AI. This role is ideal for a Broadcast or Media Engineer passionate about driving industry change and working with cutting-edge technology at major global events.
Responsibilities
- Use broadcast and media expertise to help customers understand how IP, networking, and emerging technologies can transform their production and delivery environments.
- Advise customers on technologies such as SMPTE ST 2110, PTP / SMPTE ST 2059, Multicast, QoS, IP media transport, UHD and high-bandwidth media workflows, resilient and highly available media architectures, data centre and cloud infrastructure, and automation and AI infrastructure.
- Lead technical engagements from discovery through architecture, workshops, and proof-of-concepts.
- Help customers understand the business and production impact of technology deployments.
- Collaborate with Cisco Account Executives to develop customer strategies, identify opportunities, and build long-term relationships.
- Represent Cisco at major industry events like IBC, NAB, and Cisco Live.
- Work with Cisco engineering, Business Units, standards organizations, and ecosystem partners to influence media technology's future direction.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Broadcast, Media & Entertainment, Live Production, Media Systems, Networking, or a related technical field.
- Strong practical understanding of broadcast and media workflows, including video and/or audio.
- Experience with modern IP-based media environments or a strong understanding of the transition from SDI to IP.
- Experience with technologies used in modern IP broadcast environments (e.g., SMPTE ST 2110, PTP/ST 2059, NMOS, multicast, QoS, IP media transport).
- Experience designing, solving, or implementing complex technical environments where reliability, resilience, and real-time performance are critical.
- Ability to engage with engineers and technical teams and explain complex technology clearly.
- Experience working directly with customers, technology partners, or system integrators.
