About the Role

Responsibilities

Assess client needs, develop individualized rehabilitation plans, and support clients in achieving greater independence and participation in their daily lives.
Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments in community, home and workplace environments.
Develop and implement evidence-informed treatment and rehabilitation plans.
Complete functional, mobility, ergonomic and home-safety assessments.
Support clients with acquired brain injury, musculoskeletal injuries and other complex rehabilitation needs.
Develop return-to-work and functional restoration strategies.
Recommend equipment, assistive devices and environmental modifications where appropriate.
Collaborate with clients, families, employers, insurers, physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Prepare timely, high-quality clinical documentation and reports.
Manage your caseload with a high degree of professional autonomy while remaining connected to a supportive clinical team.

Requirements

OTA/PTA diploma
Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and communication skills.
A client-centred and collaborative approach to rehabilitation.
Ability to work independently within a community-based practice model.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle for community-based work, as required.
Experience in community rehabilitation, auto insurance, acquired brain injury, functional assessment, catastrophic injury, disability management or return-to-work is an asset.
New graduates and internationally educated Kinesiologists who meet Ontario registration requirements are encouraged to apply.
