About the Role
As Assort Health rapidly expands, this IT Systems Engineer role is crucial for owning and scaling IT infrastructure, including endpoint management, identity systems, and daily operations within the Security organization. This foundational position offers broad ownership, leading initiatives like identity and access management, device lifecycle management, and IT onboarding/offboarding, while also addressing operational needs to enable secure and efficient company growth.
Responsibilities
- Own identity and access management end-to-end, including SSO integrations, user provisioning, and access controls across all applications
- Lead the rollout and long-term ownership of Okta to centralize and secure access management
- Design and implement scalable IT systems that support company growth and compliance requirements
- Manage endpoint infrastructure, including provisioning, configuration, patching, and lifecycle management
- Own employee onboarding and offboarding workflows, ensuring seamless day-one experiences and secure offboarding processes
- Handle day-to-day IT operational requests including access management, troubleshooting, and employee support
- Build automation and self-service systems to reduce manual IT workload and eliminate bottlenecks
- Establish processes that reduce single points of failure and improve system reliability
- Set up and maintain office network infrastructure, including VPNs, access points, and ongoing troubleshooting
- Design and implement secure asset disposition processes for retiring and wiping devices
- Troubleshoot issues across macOS and Windows environments in a fast-paced, in-office setting
- Transition IT from ad hoc support to structured, scalable systems
- Partner with Security to ensure compliance and strong security practices across all IT systems
- Own key areas of IT infrastructure as part of a growing team, building processes that will scale with headcount growth
- Provide in-person support and real-time problem-solving in a highly collaborative office environment
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, IT Engineering, or similar roles
- Experience building and managing IT systems and workflows in a growing organization
- Strong understanding of identity and access management (SSO, SAML, SCIM, RBAC, etc.)
- Experience implementing and managing enterprise SaaS tools at scale
- Familiarity with device management platforms (e.g., Jamf, Microsoft Intune)
- Experience with identity providers like Okta
- Strong troubleshooting skills across macOS and Windows environments
- Ability to operate independently and take full ownership of IT infrastructure
- Comfortable working onsite and supporting employees in real time
- Experience scaling IT systems in a high-growth startup environment
- Background in security or working closely with security/compliance teams
- Experience building automation or self-service IT workflows
- Familiarity with office network infrastructure (VPNs, access points, etc.)
- Experience supporting compliance frameworks or handling sensitive data environments
