About the Role

This role transforms complex credit research, data, and analytical concepts into clear, accurate, and market-ready digital content within S&P Global Ratings' Editorial team. The team collaborates with writers, editors, digital content producers, and Ratings analysts across all sectors, valuing collaboration, accountability, sound judgment, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Edit credit-related research and data, including rating actions, event-driven commentary, and in-depth entity-specific and industry reports, ensuring grammatical accuracy, adherence to house style, and compliance with publishing standards.
  • Apply digital-first principles — including brevity, plain English, and audience-focused content presentation — to refine key messages, topic sentences, headlines, and article structure.
  • Use sound editorial judgment to clarify complex financial market concepts while preserving analytical meaning, accuracy, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Collaborate with analysts, editors, digital content producers, and other stakeholders to resolve editorial questions, manage competing priorities, and support timely publication.
  • Perform production tasks to ensure articles conform to global publishing standards for format, style, and branding specifications.
  • Take ownership of assigned work, apply sound decision-making, and escalate issues appropriately when editorial, regulatory, or reputational risks arise.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in editing for financial research or business media.
  • Demonstrated experience editing digital content for professional, financial, business, or market-focused audiences.
  • Sound knowledge of financial markets terminology and concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify inconsistencies, clarify complex information, and ensure content is clear, concise, complete, and accurate.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound editorial judgment, manage deadlines independently, and make decisions that support quality, accuracy, and market relevance.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a global, team-oriented environment, with the interpersonal skills to engage effectively with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience working with credit research, ratings-related content, financial news, investment research, or other regulated financial market content.
  • Familiarity with digital publishing workflows, content management systems, search-friendly headline writing, and audience-focused content presentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with global stakeholders and communicate clearly with subject matter experts, including analysts, researchers, economists, product teams, and publishing colleagues.
  • Interest in identifying opportunities to improve editorial processes, consistency, quality, and the reader experience.
  • Candidates who reach the final stage of the interview process must attend at least one in-person interview.
  • Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
