About the Role
Oversee end-to-end accounting functions, including General Ledger maintenance, balance sheet management, and statutory reporting for Sephora's ANZ operations.
Responsibilities
- Support accurate and timely month-end reporting, including journal review, general ledger activity, accruals, and prepayments.
- Review financial information, balance sheet reconciliations, and P&L results for completeness and accuracy.
- Identify unusual transactions, coding issues, variances, and risks requiring further investigation.
- Prepare analysis and supporting information for local, regional, and global reporting, forecasting, working capital, and cash flow.
- Prepare Australian BAS and New Zealand GST returns, including reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Support corporate tax and compliance requirements across ANZ, liaising with internal stakeholders, Shared Services, and external advisors.
- Support external, Group, and internal audit requirements.
- Prepare audit schedules, PBC documentation, reconciliations, and responses to audit queries.
- Partner with the Regional Shared Service Centre on General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable processes.
- Review balance sheet accounts and reconciling items to ensure accurate expenditure recording.
- Support financial control, reporting, and analysis for operating expenses.
- Analyze expenditure, variances, cost trends, cash flow forecasts, and capital expenditure against budgets.
- Provide historical data and financial analysis to assist with forecasting and budget reviews.
- Partner with key stakeholders to investigate variances and support decision-making.
Requirements
- CA or CPA qualified, with tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' relevant accounting and finance experience.
- Strong technical accounting experience across month-end close, general ledger review, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, financial reporting, financial controls, and audits.
- Exposure to BAS, GST, CAPEX, fixed asset accounting, and audit PBC preparation is highly regarded.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and SAP experience.
- Strong attention to detail, sound financial judgement, and a commitment to accuracy, data integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Proactive, organised, and comfortable managing competing deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with local teams, regional Shared Services, external auditors, and other stakeholders.
