About the Role

The Financial Reporting and Control Division is responsible for delivering reliable, timely, and accurate financial and regulatory information to internal and external stakeholders. The division integrates financial accounting, regulatory reporting, taxation, internal control over financial reporting, actuarial valuation processes, and financial operations and control, ensuring robust financial governance and effective use of data across the finance area. By combining reporting, actuarial, and data capabilities, the division supports regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and generation of financial insight along 5 different accounting frameworks (JGAAP, IFRS, J-ICS, PIM and Tax). The insights from all different frameworks support in achieving NN Life Japan's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial and regulatory reporting, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of financial results.
  • Oversee actuarial valuation and customer value calculation processes and ensure proper governance and monitoring.
  • Ensure appropriate incorporation of actuarial results into financial statements and regulatory reporting under IFRS, JGAAP, and solvency (J-ICS and PIM) frameworks.
  • Strengthen internal control over financial reporting, including controls over actuarial models, assumptions, and data processes.
  • Drive process improvement and automation across finance and actuarial functions to enhance efficiency and reduce manual work.
  • Act as a key counterpart for regulators, auditors, and Group head office on financial and actuarial matters.
  • Lead and develop teams across accounting, reporting, actuarial valuation, and finance data functions.
