About the Role
BDO has a unique opportunity for experienced M&A Tax Managers and Senior Managers to join its Private Equity & Corporate M&A Tax team in Sydney. Successful applicants will be key members of a collaborative team working closely with domestic and international private equity, VC firms, and corporate clients on their critical interests in Australia and globally.
Responsibilities
- Engage in the full spectrum of Private Equity/M&A tax advisory work, including tax due diligence, domestic and international transaction structuring, transaction documentation reviews, modelling, MEP structuring, FIRB considerations, Private Binding Ruling Preparation, and fund structuring.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on transactions, liaising directly with clients, commercial lawyers, investment bankers, investigating accountants, and other service providers.
- Collaborate closely with Partners and Directors across various BDO tax, Corporate Finance, Commercial Due Diligence, and other Deal Advisory services teams involved in a transaction.
- Build enduring relationships with clients to develop your professional practice.
- Work in an inclusive, supportive, and professional environment as part of a wider National Tax team with significant growth ambitions.
Requirements
- 4-8 years of Australian tax experience in M&A/Deals Advisory or corporate tax advisory practice at a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm, or as a Corporate Tax advisor at a law firm.
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Accounting, or Law, along with professional qualifications as a CA, CTA, or lawyer.
- Commercial understanding of M&A transactions.
- Strong project management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Sound track record of advising on tax due diligence, tax structuring, and fund structuring, with an interest in further developing these skills.
