About the Role
The Flex Court Services Coordinator (CSC) supports daily operations and collaborates with borough staff to promote research-based practices. This role manages the implementation of the agency’s Release Assessment through pre-arraignment interviews, bail expediting services, stakeholder partnerships, and court date/warrant notifications. The coordinator oversees new programming data collection and performance of Pretrial Associates, manages projects, and ensures quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Understand, apply, and explain CJA programs and release assessment tools.
- Engage in direct service with vulnerable populations.
- Collaborate with the Borough Manager to implement diversion strategies for at-risk populations.
- Provide enhanced notification and support for vulnerable populations.
- Collaborate with operations staff to improve systems for bail payment facilitation and service offerings.
- Participate in training on working with vulnerable populations, conflict resolution, and motivational interviewing.
- Supervise Pretrial Associates in gathering information for release eligibility.
- Monitor and support Pretrial Associates and interns in data gathering and pilot programs.
- Monitor data entry, verification, transcription of criminal history records, and potential bail sureties.
- Ensure staff productivity during shifts.
- Lead by example to communicate agency values and motivate staff.
- Oversee daily site operations, including workflow, distribution, quality assurance, and scheduling.
- Train new and current Pretrial Associates on agency protocols.
- Evaluate the performance of Pretrial Associates.
- Be flexible and creative in problem-solving and multitasking.
- Review daily reports and prepare monthly bail expediting reports.
- Troubleshoot issues with programs, services, reports, facilities, or courts.
- Assist in compiling statistical data and reports.
- Participate in agency studies, operational initiatives, research, and special projects.
- Notify and work with management on office, facility, and IT issues, identifying solutions.
- Participate in monthly individual supervision meetings with the Borough Manager.
- Attend monthly town hall and other meetings, potentially outside scheduled work hours.
- Collaborate with court partners on bail expediting and notification efforts.
- Represent CJA at conferences and recruitment events.
- Participate in meetings with the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice and other agencies.
- Perform other tasks as outlined by management.
Requirements
- Internal candidates must have 2 years of employment as a PTA or comparable experience.
- Candidates with prior supervisory experience are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other computer systems is essential.
- Willingness and ability to work any assigned tour, as needed, to include evenings and weekends.
- Comfortable acting as a liaison and advocate across all pretrial settings.
- Knowledge of the NYC Criminal Justice system and/or work experience in pretrial justice is preferable.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient computer skills, data collection, and writing skills.
- Internal applicants must be in their current role for at least 1 year and in good standing (no disciplinary action within 90 days) to be eligible for this role.

Salary/Compensations
- $71,609.72 + $5,012.68 - night differential annually
