About the Role
This role plays a pivotal leadership position in shaping and delivering Transport’s asset and services planning framework, ensuring alignment with NSW Treasury Asset Management Policy and organizational priorities. It leads a team to drive the end-to-end asset and services planning process and the annual enterprise Asset and Services Plan.
Responsibilities
- Lead Transport’s asset management reporting to Infrastructure NSW and NSW Treasury, ensuring accurate performance metrics, high-quality data, and timely inputs to strategic reports and planning artefacts.
- Build and sustain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across Transport, Infrastructure NSW, and NSW Treasury to ensure compliance with NSW Treasury Asset Management Policy for the NSW Public Sector (TPP 19-07) and whole-of-government asset management assurance requirements.
- Oversee and deliver the Transport Asset Rationalisation Program, including governance, implementation of standards, and continuous improvement to optimise asset portfolios.
- Represent Transport at whole-of-government forums, providing authoritative input on asset management frameworks, policies, and deliverables, and influencing cross-agency outcomes.
- Provide expert asset management advice across all transport modes, while leading, motivating, and developing a high-performing, inclusive team focused on capability uplift and delivery excellence.
Requirements
- Comfortable building and maintaining strong, trusted relationships across the Transport cluster to deliver expert asset management advice spanning all modes and the full asset lifecycle.
- Oversee critical strategic partnerships, including leading Transport’s attestation requirements with NSW Treasury and Infrastructure NSW.
- Provide clear, timely reporting to senior stakeholders, seeking guidance where needed, clarifying expectations, and tracking progress against agreed work plans.
- Actively support operational priorities by facilitating information exchange, contributing informed insights to decision-making, and fostering alignment across teams.
- Confidently escalate issues, lead constructive discussions, and put forward practical, well-considered solutions to drive outcomes when challenges arise.
