About the Role

Red Hat is seeking an experienced pre-sales engineer (Solution Architect) to join the Red Hat Solution Architect team. This role will focus on supporting financial industry (FSI) clients, leveraging extensive IT knowledge and open-source technologies to guide their future architectural vision and lead transformation initiatives. The position goes beyond simple product proposals, aiming to act as a "Trusted Advisor" to C-level executives and IT leaders in banks, securities firms, and insurance companies. The mission involves providing comprehensive support that addresses fundamental client challenges, encompassing not only open-source technology but also process and organizational culture transformation. We value a proactive approach to adopting new mechanisms and ways of thinking in the rapidly changing IT operations of Japanese companies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop compelling narratives based on financial trends and business needs, using case studies as evidence to propose Red Hat solutions and envision transformation.
  • Understand client's mid-to-long-term business and IT strategies, proposing IT strategies and roadmaps that consider financial industry-specific trends, regulations, and challenges.
  • Lead account planning as part of the account team with sales representatives, linking business challenges with technical solutions.
  • Design and propose architectures and processes that balance "offensive IT" (DX, AI, cloud-native) with "defensive IT" (efficiency and automation of existing assets), including supporting the conceptualization of next-generation platforms that consider AI governance and security.
  • Host discovery sessions and workshops with clients to identify and articulate potential challenges.
  • Propose optimal Red Hat portfolio solutions (RHEL, OpenShift, Ansible, middleware, AI, etc.) based on client problem-solving, demonstrating technical feasibility through PoCs and demos.
  • Build strong trust relationships with client CxOs and IT leaders, supporting business transformation decision-making from a technical perspective.
  • Collaborate with internal and external experts (product development, global teams, partners) to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Systematize successful case studies and technical knowledge, sharing them with domestic and global teams to enhance overall organizational technical capabilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience in system proposal, consulting, design, and construction for enterprise clients, gained at a vendor, SIer, consulting firm, or business company.
  • Ability to build relationships with client CxOs and department heads.
  • Proficiency in client interviews/discovery, consulting sales, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.
  • Broad knowledge of enterprise technology stacks/architectures including virtualization, cloud, containers, storage, RDBMS, middleware, ERP, data integration/APIs, high-availability configurations, and AI.
  • Proactive mindset for self-directed learning and practice of new technologies and business knowledge.
  • Strong sense of challenge regarding client IT operations and a drive for change.
  • Ability to see tasks through to completion even in difficult situations.
  • Openness to exchanging opinions across organizational hierarchies and a willingness to share individual knowledge with teams and communities (Open Organization).
