About the Role

As a member of the Marketing Leadership Team (MLT), you will help set the direction, culture, and ambition of Marketing, role-modeling Tyro’s values and raising the bar for commercial performance. You will lead Tyro’s Brand, Media, Events, and Acquisition Campaigns function, with accountability for brand health, customer acquisition campaigns, events, and the overall media strategy across paid and organic channels. You will turn customer insight, sharp creative thinking, and disciplined investment into measurable growth. You will lead major cross-channel campaigns from strategy through execution, working across Digital, Web, Partnerships, Product & Customer Marketing, Sales, and external agencies. The role supports growth across Tyro Payments, Deposits, Lending, Tyro Accounting, and new and developing products.

Responsibilities

  • Co-own Tyro’s long-term brand strategy, with clear accountability for brand amplification, creative direction, metrics, investment, and execution.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of brand marketing, media, and events professionals.
  • Build engagement, strong capability, accountability, and career pathways for the team.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of customers, competitors, Tyro’s products, partners, and commercial priorities, translating insight into action.
  • Set clear annual brand plans, budgets, and targets, and measure and report monthly and quarterly as required.
  • Oversee the implementation and rollout of the new Tyro Masterbrand strategy, including amplification across media, B2B environments, and Tyro products.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Comms team for amplification of new Masterbrand communication.
  • Consider strategic opportunities for acquisition across SME segments, existing verticals, and growth opportunities.
  • Work closely with the customer and product marketing team to integrate brand strategy and messaging in GTM campaigns.
  • Build and execute brand programs that grow awareness, consideration, trust, and advocacy, demonstrating how brand investment contributes to customer and revenue growth.
  • Own event strategy.
  • Own Brand health tracking.
  • Develop integrated brand campaigns across required channels, including BVOD, paid digital, out-of-home, events, paid and organic social, Podcasts, direct, and print.
  • Define the role of each channel, audience, and investment across the funnel; set the annual media approach, budget allocation, testing roadmap, and measurement framework.
  • Connect paid and organic activity into one coherent plan across paid digital, paid and organic social, out-of-home, PR, partnerships, direct, and other relevant channels.
  • Drive media effectiveness and return on marketing investment through rigorous planning, experimentation, optimization, attribution, and performance reviews.
  • Lead media agency and partner relationships, setting clear expectations on strategy, buying, effectiveness, transparency, innovation, and value.
  • Ensure media, message, creative, and landing experiences work together, partnering closely with Digital, Web, Martech, and campaign owners to improve performance.
  • Own the central campaign strategy and plan for major integrated launches, including audience, proposition, creative, messaging, media, and activity calendar across Direct, Software Partnerships, Retail, Banking, and Customer Marketing channels.
  • Integrate Event strategy and brand campaigns.
  • Oversee Tyro’s direct-channel acquisition strategy and execution, including messaging, offers, calendars, media, creative, and conversion performance.
  • Run a disciplined calendar of acquisition campaigns against annual customer and revenue targets, balancing major integrated launches with focused single-stream activity.
  • Work with Web, Martech, and Sales to track leads through to conversion, identify leakage, and continuously improve campaign effectiveness.

Requirements
