About the Role
We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist to join the wiq team, driving analytical excellence and strategic innovation by delivering sophisticated data science and AI solutions to Woolworths. This role involves spearheading the development and implementation of cutting-edge solutions, mentoring technical talent, and fostering a collaborative team culture. You will engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, translating complex AI concepts into clear business value.
Responsibilities
- Lead analytical delivery of data science projects for Woolworths, ensuring high-quality solutions that address complex data challenges and drive tangible business outcomes.
- Manage and mentor a technical team of 3–5 analysts, developing their capabilities and fostering professional growth.
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring alignment between technical solutions and business objectives.
- Translate technical concepts and analytical insights into accessible recommendations for non-technical audiences.
- Apply understanding of Generative AI applications to enhance analytical productivity and deliverable quality.
Requirements
- Excellent SQL and Python skills for complex data querying and manipulation across large datasets.
- Experience with large-scale data processing.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, or Databricks).
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop technical teams of 3–5 people.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across various organisational levels.
- Strong presentation and communication abilities, with experience translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Understanding of Generative AI applications in analytics and consulting contexts.
