About the Role

The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and improving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated equipment within a manufacturing or industrial facility. This role supports production operations by ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and promoting a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, motors, drives, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, relays, and control circuits.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical components including bearings, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, chains, belts, and power transmission systems.
  • Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Install, test, and commission new machinery and production equipment.
  • Calibrate and maintain instrumentation, sensors, and controls.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify and eliminate recurring equipment failures.
  • Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to optimize equipment performance.
  • Maintain an organized work area and ensure proper inventory of maintenance parts and supplies.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or electro-mechanical experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical controls, motors, VFDs, PLCs, and industrial automation systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and calibrators.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environments.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or rotating shifts as required.
  • Ability to safely work at heights and in confined spaces when necessary.
