About the Role
This is a temporary, project-based role focused on technology leadership and operational improvement for a consulting engagement in Tokyo. The role involves maintaining continuity across back-office and retail applications, supporting the local applications team, coordinating with vendors and international teams, and enhancing documentation and role clarity during a leadership gap.
Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day coordination of back-office and retail applications.
- Provide practical leadership support to the local applications team.
- Monitor operational priorities, system issues, and project activities.
- Coordinate with local, regional, and global technology teams.
- Manage communication and follow-up with external technology vendors.
- Support applications related to enterprise resource planning, warehouse management, order management, retail operations, payments, and business reporting.
- Help resolve or escalate application issues that may affect business operations.
- Review current processes, responsibilities, and support arrangements.
- Clarify ownership across local teams, international teams, and external vendors.
- Document recurring activities, system knowledge, key contacts, dependencies, and open issues.
- Organize existing technical and operational documentation.
- Identify missing, outdated, or inaccessible documentation.
- Improve the visibility of team priorities, responsibilities, and ongoing work.
- Support knowledge transfer and handover to a permanent leader or successor.
- Identify practical opportunities to improve coordination, documentation, and ways of working.
- Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
