About the Role

We seek a dynamic and motivated technical trainer to design, deliver, and document training on technical topics, such as high voltage electrical maintenance and equipment operations, to equip field teams with the tools, skills, and confidence required for success.

Responsibilities

• Build, deliver, and manage tailored technical training sessions on topics like industrial mechanical, electrical, and equipment operation, prioritizing safety and environmental standards.
• Evaluate and revise training presentations to meet specific needs and ensure relevance and engagement.
• Demonstrate equipment operation, installation, and maintenance.
• Provide vendor support, including equipment staging and ensuring alignment with safety and environmental standards.
• Review vendor evaluations for improvements.
• Follow Environmental and Safety Management System requirements and industry/regulatory standards to maintain a flawless training program.

Requirements

• Nine or more years of experience in utility industry mechanical and/or electrical maintenance, safety training, environmental training or compliance, including providing guidance, leadership or formal/informal instruction to staff, or other relevant experience.
• A degree(s) in industrial maintenance, instrumentation, controls, electrical systems, health and safety, education or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
• Driver's license.
• Class A Texas commercial driver's license or equivalent from another state required for incumbents with heavy equipment operation and transportation responsibilities.

• Electric utility industry knowledge.
• Maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of high voltage equipment and systems.
• Process control systems, electrical circuit theory, power plant, and transmission systems operations.
• Mechanical and electrical equipment operations.
• NERC, ERCOT, OSHA, ANSI, EPA, and TCEQ rules and regulations.
• Instructional development and adult learning principles.
