About the Role
This recruitment is for current exempt employees in the 1244 Senior Human Resources Analyst classification. The role involves difficult and responsible professional and technical human resources work in various areas, with potential to lead or supervise staff.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a team leader or assistant team leader in recruitment and selection, employee/labor relations, classification and compensation, benefits administration, HR operations, DEI, and personnel training.
- Perform recruitment activities, including announcement preparation and sourcing.
- Prepare examination announcements and advertisements, and determine applicant eligibility.
- Conduct job analysis, construct examinations, obtain subject matter expert input, oversee test administration and scoring, determine weights, respond to protests, document validity, and generate eligible lists.
- Conduct investigations and surveys of job duties, perform audits, and recommend/prepare class specifications.
- Evaluate leave and ADA accommodation requests, administer hiring processes, interview candidates, and administer employee discipline.
- Negotiate resolutions to grievances, investigate misconduct complaints, and enforce MOUs.
- Participate in salary and wage data collection and evaluation.
- Perform special projects in HR administration, preparing reports and recommendations.
- Confer with stakeholders regarding HR laws and regulations.
- Coordinate HR transactions, review requests to fill positions, and process personal services contracts.
- Implement diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, including developing resources, leading recruitment, coaching management, and monitoring benchmarks.
- Train and consult with City employees on supervision and leadership, conduct workshops, and consult on training and organizational development.
Requirements
- Current Category 16, 17, or 18 Exempt Employee in Class 1244 who has worked at least 2,080 hours in class 1244.
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
- At least three (3) years of verifiable professional human resources experience in one or more of the following areas: recruitment and selection; classification and compensation; employee and/or labor relations; benefits administration; human resources operations; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and personnel training.

- $139,828 to $169,858 yearly
