About the Role

We are hiring our first dedicated IT Operations Lead to own the systems, devices, and access that everyone at Office Hours relies on. This is a hands-on role covering end user support, device and fleet management, SaaS and identity administration, office infrastructure, and the technical side of onboarding and off-boarding. You will configure access and tooling to align with security requirements, working closely with Legal and Compliance. This role is built for independence, allowing you to set your own priorities and build processes as you go, serving as the company's go-to person for IT operations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT and systems questions across the company.
  • Triage and resolve hardware, software, and access issues.
  • Build documentation and guidance for self-service IT support.
  • Own hardware procurement, deployment, and lifecycle tracking.
  • Manage MDM enrollment and configuration for a distributed Mac fleet.
  • Administer our identity provider and SSO.
  • Manage role-based access across systems and conduct regular access reviews.
  • Administer our tool stack, evaluate and implement new tools.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, renewals, licenses, and seat allocation.
  • Identify opportunities for tool consolidation and reduce redundant spend.
  • Maintain office network, connectivity, printers, peripherals, and AV equipment.
  • Own the technical aspects of employee onboarding and offboarding.
  • Implement and maintain security configurations across systems.
  • Support security remediation efforts and partner with security owners.
  • Build runbooks, workflows, and automation to scale IT operations.
  • Administer our AI tool stack, including access, licensing, and usage visibility.
  • Assist employees in effectively using AI tools through documentation, training, and support.
  • Provide recommendations on new AI tools, adoption, cost, and appropriate use.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years in IT operations or systems administration, ideally at a startup with in-person and remote employees.
  • Experience as the sole or first IT hire, or equivalent experience operating with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Fluent, daily use of AI tools in your own work, with opinions on effectiveness and ability to teach others.
  • Strong hands-on administration of Google Workspace, an identity provider such as Okta, and Mac fleet management through an MDM.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a modern SaaS stack, including access management, licensing, and cost control.
  • Sound judgment for independent handling and escalation of issues.
  • Patient, service-oriented approach with non-technical colleagues.
  • Experience configuring security controls against an established framework.
  • Multi-site network and AV setup experience.
  • Direct experience driving AI adoption across a non-technical population, or advising leadership on AI tooling decisions (Bonus).
  • Information Security background or experience (Bonus).
