About the Role
Provide academic, social, and emotional services for students needing additional support. Utilize proven instructional models, strategies, and curriculum. Conduct assessments, use data for instructional plans, and collaborate with school teams and families. Coordinate and evaluate the educational program, mentor classroom staff, and assist with staff recruitment and onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with classroom staff to coordinate, manage, assess needs, and determine student assignment for special education programs.
- Assist Principal with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new campus staff members.
- Develop and implement transition planning and services/Indicator 13.
- Maintain IEP database and student file scan database.
- Prepare and attend students’ IEP meetings, ensuring accurate documentation and ongoing monitoring for ISBE compliance.
- Plan and implement staff and parent education related to special education programs.
- Maintain a close working relationship with the school district, parents, and community.
- Provide and monitor crisis intervention at the school.
- Organize, plan, and deliver training for professional development and staff meetings.
- Actively participate in Education Committee meetings and relay information to the resource team.
Requirements
- Current SPED Teaching license or Principal License.
- Experience working with similar population in a school setting preferred.
- Experience working with staff in a coaching capacity.
- Strong professional communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to record and analyze data utilizing Excel and Google Drive.
Salary/Compensations
- Starting from USD $80,000.00/Yr.
