About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional early-career Data Engineer I with strong Python and SQL skills and a passion for solving complex technical problems and dealing with ambiguity. This is an opportunity for a talented graduate to build real-world data systems and grow quickly in a fast-paced, high-performance startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data pipelines and data products and solutions using Python, SQL, and modern cloud data platforms and technologies.
- Develop, test, and troubleshoot data ingestion, transformations, and workflows.
- Apply software engineering practices including Git, testing, and CI/CD.
- Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development and testing productivity.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers, take ownership, adapt and learn quickly, and deliver solutions that directly support data and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- 0-2 years of experience in data engineering or software engineering.
- Excellent Python programming skills and a reasonable knowledge of SQL.
- Strong software engineering and problem-solving skills.
- Curious, takes initiative, and is a quick learner.
- Willing to embrace the pace, ambiguity, and challenges of a startup environment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
- Must be comfortable writing code and solving difficult technical problems.
- Willing to challenge the status quo.
- Must be willing to collaborate with Principal and Senior Data Engineers as well as cross-functional teams.
