About the Role

Legion is building an AI-native care-delivery platform, starting with psychiatry. We are seeking a principal-level engineer to own the most challenging systems within our care platform, taking full responsibility from problem identification to completion and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Own the factory spine, focusing on maximizing leverage in the era of agentic engineering and scaling our deployment processes.
  • Own the clinical work spine, ensuring auditability and fail-closed checks for AI agents and humans acting on patient care.

  • Own the data and metrics estate, including the warehouse, analytics platform, and data pipelines.
  • Conduct architecture syncs with the CTO, providing input and making decisions within your domain.

Requirements

  • Experience owning architecture across multiple companies or codebases (staff-plus IC, chief-architect, or platform-consulting background).
  • Proven ability to ship daily at high volume with AI agents.
  • Instinct to take ownership of ambiguous, complex problems, driving them to completion with documentation.
  • Proactive written communication skills.
  • Commitment to clinical-grade correctness, including auditability, HIPAA compliance, fail-closed defaults, and invariants.
  • Typically 10+ years of experience and multiple systems owned end-to-end.
