About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help shape the responsible and effective use of AI across Morningstar DBRS. This role focuses on developing shared infrastructure, services, and applications that enable AI capabilities to be deployed into production, rather than research or isolated proofs of concept. - Develop AI agents, MCP servers, APIs, and shared platform capabilities to enable other teams in building and deploying AI-powered solutions.
- Partner with business and technology teams to understand complex workflows and identify opportunities for AI-driven improvements.
- Evaluate and implement approaches like tool use, retrieval-based architectures, orchestration frameworks, and model evaluation techniques.
- Modernize existing Python-based applications and integrate AI capabilities into current products and workflows.
- Contribute to technical decisions, engineering standards, and delivery planning, while guiding less experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience building and operating production applications in AWS.
- Professional experience developing applications and services in Python.
- Experience delivering AI-powered applications beyond experimentation, including deploying solutions for internal or external customers.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock or comparable enterprise AI platforms and their surrounding ecosystem (model integration, evaluation, monitoring).
- Experience designing and consuming APIs, building distributed services, and integrating with enterprise systems.
- A practical approach to software architecture, testing, observability, and operational support.
