About the Role
MetalBear is building mirrord, a Kubernetes development platform that enables developers and AI coding agents to run code against a live cluster before deployment, significantly reducing feedback loops from minutes to seconds. The Cloud Integrations team focuses on features that automatically manage cloud services to create isolated environments, enhancing mirrord's value in enterprise settings.
Responsibilities
- Contribute Rust code for creating, managing, reconfiguring, and adapting cloud resources.
- Utilize AI to enhance code quality and development speed.
- Collaborate with the engineering team on architecture, feature design, and infrastructure.
- Engage directly with users for requirements gathering, solution development, and debugging.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience.
- At least 1 year of experience writing production-grade Rust.
- Located between UTC-5 and UTC+4.
- Strong systems-level thinking and ability to debug complex, distributed environments.
- Comfortable working asynchronously in a remote-first startup environment.
- Familiarity with cloud-native environments (Docker, containers, Kubernetes) beyond the basics.
- Familiarity with backend infrastructure tooling (datastores, message brokers, GitOps tools, etc.).
- Good communication skills.
