About the Role
The Senior Product Manager, Data owns the development and improvement of Forge's data products, including pricing, indices, derived data, reference data, and data distribution. This role is accountable for delivering accurate, reliable, and valuable products, working closely with engineering, data research, and data operations to turn customer and business needs into shipped solutions.
Responsibilities
- Own the roadmap, backlog, requirements, priorities, and success measures for one or more Forge data products.
- Define and deliver data products that are accurate, reliable, usable, and relevant to customer and business needs.
- Own data distribution through APIs and file-based feeds, including production monitoring, alerting, SLA performance, and coordination of issue resolution.
- Partner with engineering, data research, and data operations across discovery, development, launch, and iteration.
- Align internal stakeholders on priorities, dependencies, tradeoffs, risks, and outcomes.
- Gather input from clients and external partners, when appropriate, and translate it into actionable product requirements.
Requirements
- Managed financial data products through a complete life cycle for at least 5 to 8 years.
- Understands how data is sourced, transformed, validated, distributed, and used; sets standards for accuracy, timeliness, and transparency.
- Converts business and customer problems into clear requirements and delivered solutions.
- Builds trust and drives alignment across product, engineering, data, and commercial teams without direct authority.
- Understands financial market data products and the needs of institutional data users.
- Products meet defined accuracy, quality, and reliability targets, including distribution SLAs.
- Roadmap delivers measurable customer and business value.
- Internal — and, where relevant, external — stakeholders trust the product direction and communication.
- Ownership spans one or more Forge Data product areas (e.g., pricing, indices, derived data, reference data, distribution).
- Coordinates cross-team initiatives with dependencies across engineering, data research, and data operations.
- Represents Forge Data in internal planning forums and selected client or partner conversations.
- Background checks include employment and education verification, state, and county criminal history searches as well as fingerprint and drug test.
