About the Role
McCarthy Tétrault is seeking an Ethical Walls Analyst to manage ethical walls and confidential screens, coordinate compliance and onboarding, prepare no-contact memos and reports, and support conflicts and risk management initiatives. This role offers a hybrid work environment and is an existing vacancy.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the go-to expert for all inquiries related to ethical walls (screen) within the firm.
- Work closely with General Counsel and Risk Management to devise solutions for complex business and legal conflicts.
- Oversee the creation and management of confidential screens across all office locations.
- Coordinate with various teams for time-sensitive onboarding and ensuring compliance with ethical screens.
- Prepare and distribute crucial “no-contact” memos and audit reports, managing sensitive information effectively.
- Lead in managing security for specialized working groups and confidential files.
- Regularly review and update screens, ensuring their integrity and accuracy.
- Analyze and optimize existing screens, identifying opportunities for improvements.
- Support the conflicts and file-opening team as necessary, along with handling ad hoc projects.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
- Strong foundation in accounting principles.
- Bilingualism in English and French is a valuable asset.
- Excellent multitasking abilities, capable of working under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with business and legal terminology.

Salary/Compensations
- $68,000 – $78,000 annually (Toronto or Vancouver Only)
