About the Role
The Electric Plant Co. is seeking a Chief of Staff to manage the business operations side of the company, including finance, people operations, and business development, while the CEO focuses on technical and strategic aspects. This role involves coordinating fractional teams, leveraging AI agents for operational tasks, and supporting customer and investor communications.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate business operations including finance, people ops, tax, admin, benefits, vendors, and office operations.
- Manage fractional teams, controller, and AI agents to ensure cohesive operational systems.
- Act as a sophisticated user of internal AI operating systems for business operations.
- Own inbound triage, pipeline hygiene, and prospective customer follow-through.
- Manage scheduling and preparation for customer visits.
- Coordinate investor updates on a regular cadence.
- Handle PR and event logistics.
- Transform existing sales material into professional customer-facing packages.
Requirements
- Experience running end-to-end business operations at a small company with fractional or partially covered functions.
- Proven ability to coordinate individuals who do not report directly, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Comfortable producing customer- or investor-facing material in a specified voice.
- Demonstrated experience as a sophisticated user of AI agents or automation for operational work.
- Experience owning inbound triage, pipeline hygiene, or customer-facing logistics in a pre-sales or early commercial context.
- Ability to hold founders or senior leaders accountable to deadlines while maintaining strong relationships.
- History of addressing operational gaps across multiple functions.
- Possess day-to-day presence and credibility with vendors, fractional teams, and customers.
- Prior experience at an early-stage startup (pre-Series A/seed) is a strong plus.
- Background in or curiosity about plant science, agriculture, or horticulture is a strong plus.
