About the Role

We are looking for a Strategy Associate with a passion for renewable energy and the decarbonization mission, who wants to join the US strategy team of a rapidly growing global energy tech business. This role focuses on corporate development and transformative commercial opportunities, from origination through execution, aiming to drive step changes in growth, valuation, and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Own discrete strategic projects end to end, including sizing opportunities, building cases, securing decisions, and implementation.
  • Work across the US energy landscape on emerging opportunities such as battery deployment, powered land, retail supply, and utility programs.
  • Realize value in M&A activity by integrating businesses, pursuing synergies, and building proof points for future strategy.
  • Turn early-stage initiatives into repeatable operations, developing playbooks for scaling.
  • Partner with the OE US CFO on strategic finance and budgeting, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Build commercial and analytical foundations, including unit economics, market structure, and counterparty landscape.
  • Operate with a clear understanding of the destination and constraints, rather than relying on detailed project plans.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical foundation from strategy consultancy, investment bank, PE/VC, corp dev, high-growth operating role, or service background.
  • Proven track record of execution, not just recommendations.
  • Fluency in spreadsheets and understanding of how budgets, forecasts, and business cases connect to strategic projects.
  • Comfort owning outcomes with limited oversight.
  • Commercial instinct for deals, integrations, and partnerships, with discipline to track synergy cases.
  • Sufficient technical curiosity to quickly learn unfamiliar areas of the energy sector.
  • Values-led with a passion for decarbonization and the US energy transition.
  • A bias for action and a high tolerance for ambiguity.
