About the Role

A Tour Guide will create a positive impression of MSG Entertainment's buildings, events, operations, and the overall "Madison Square Garden Experience." They will conduct a 60-minute behind-the-scenes walking tour of the MSG Arena, aiming to provide guests with a world-class experience. This role also involves maintaining general order and safety for visitors along the tour route and greeting/checking in guests.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily public tours of MSG Arena in an orderly and safe fashion.
  • Memorize and present a 20-25 page script in a clear, concise, informative, and entertaining manner.
  • Memorize multiple tour routes and become familiar with all front of house and back of house areas of the venues.
  • Assist fellow Tour Guides with large groups.
  • Secure, return, and observe proper use of equipment such as radios, keys, uniform, locker room, props, and technology during tours.
  • Interact and work cordially with other departments and all levels of management.
  • Stay informed about company and team news, as well as upcoming events.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Conduct a minimum of 2-3 tours per day.
  • Provide exceptional experiences for guests, partners, and team members, adhering to appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.

Requirements

  • Experience in a tour-related or entertainment industry is desired.
  • Strong public speaking and communication skills are required, with a focus on customer service.
  • Recommended background includes previous employment as a Tour Guide or experience in theater, performing arts, or communications.
  • Must possess excellent memorization and time management skills.
  • Ability to articulate and inject energy and enthusiasm into presentations.
  • Ability to adapt to requests and changes to the tour script, route, and assignment on short notice.
  • Good organizational skills for checking in groups and collecting tickets.
  • Must be a member or join L153.
  • General physical requirements include lifting 25 lbs., standing for long periods, walking long distances, bending, and constant motion.
  • Must be able to traverse steps, walk, and stand for long periods.
  • Must be available 4 days a week, including weekends and holidays as needed.
