About the Role
Golden State is seeking an Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to the Public Affairs team, managing day-to-day systems, processes, communications, and logistics across various Golden State properties. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Public Affairs and offers an opportunity to learn within a growing sports and entertainment organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and operational support for the Public Affairs team across Golden State properties and business verticals.
- Coordinate and maintain department calendars, meeting schedules, project timelines, deadlines, and action items.
- Monitor shared team inboxes, respond to general inquiries, route requests, and ensure timely follow-up.
- Coordinate guest and stakeholder requests, including collecting information, confirming details, distributing materials, maintaining records, and troubleshooting routine issues.
- Communicate professionally by phone, email, and in-person with internal departments, external stakeholders, community partners, and guests.
- Process and organize department requests, documentation, approvals, invoices, payments, and related records as assigned.
- Maintain department trackers, databases, project management platforms, filing systems, templates, and standard operating procedures.
- Support the planning and logistical coordination of meetings, events, game-day activities, and other department initiatives.
- Assist with guest communications, check-in, hosting, and on-site logistics as needed.
- Prepare meeting agendas, presentation materials, briefing documents, reports, and other department materials.
- Coordinate with internal departments to support Public Affairs initiatives and resolve routine operational issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current college students, recent graduates, and individuals beginning their careers are encouraged to apply!
- Minimum 1 year of administrative support, office coordination, project coordination, or customer service experience.
- Ability to communicate professionally by phone, email, and in person with a variety of internal and external contacts.
- Ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and guests.
- Interest in public affairs, community engagement, government relations, or the sports and entertainment industry is preferred.
- Ability to work up to 20 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and game days.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/Google Workspace
- Experience using project management or workflow platforms (e.g., Asana)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
