About the Role

The Regional Service Lead is responsible for the regional ownership and strategic coordination of obsolescence and spare parts activities for HVDC and STATCOM systems across Central Europe. The role ensures long-term asset availability and lifecycle value by proactively managing obsolescence risks, defining regional spare parts strategies, and aligning service execution with global product roadmaps. This role acts as a key regional interface between Global Service, Engineering, Supply Chain, and local Service teams, translating global strategies into regional priorities and scalable service solutions to support sustainable service growth and long-term customer partnerships. This role is a critical link to the project team, providing support during the warranty and RAM phase, including internal support to the Warranty Close-Out Manager and the Project Director during the EPC phase.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the regional authority for obsolescence management and spare parts strategy for HVDC and STATCOM assets, ensuring alignment with global frameworks.
  • Identify and prioritize lifecycle risks, defining and coordinating effective mitigation strategies such as redesigns, upgrades, or lifetime buys.
  • Develop and execute regional inventory strategies, including safety stock definition, standardization, and optimized portfolio management based on asset criticality.
  • Drive service revenue by identifying opportunities within the installed base and contributing to business cases for long-term service agreements and asset life extensions.
  • Act as the primary regional focal point for technical-commercial discussions, supporting Sales and Service teams in customer-facing engagements.
  • Serve as the critical interface between Global Service, Engineering, Product Management, and Supply Chain teams to ensure regional priorities are met.
  • Improve processes, tools, and data quality while ensuring transparency regarding regional risks, performance metrics, and strategic priorities.
  • Oversee consistent regional execution and cross-functional alignment, with the authority to escalate risks and prioritize service initiatives to maximize long-term asset value.

Requirements

  • Solid technical background (Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or comparable)
  • Experience in service, lifecycle management, or asset support for complex systems
  • Understanding of HVDC and/or STATCOM technologies and long-lifecycle assets
