About the Role
As an intern in our Credits, Incentives, and Methods (CIM) group, working primarily with the Tangible Property Services (TPS) team, you will be responsible for technical expertise and delivering excellent client service. You will develop strong working relationships with clients, work on multiple team engagements, and integrate your career with your personal life.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost analyses of building construction projects and acquired properties for proper tax depreciation treatment.
- Review capital maintenance, repair, and improvement expenditures for proper tax accounting treatment.
- Create and maintain fixed asset tax depreciation systems using various software platforms.
- Participate in and implement multiple projects simultaneously, including technical discussions, research, data gathering, computations, analysis, and report preparation.
- Travel out of town occasionally to meet with clients and tour their facilities.
- Develop an understanding of clients’ businesses and become a functional expert in the area.
Requirements
- Minimum 90 credits completed towards a B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university focused on Accounting, Civil Engineering, or Architecture.
- Travel to assigned client locations is required.
- Must have access to and ability to arrange for use of reliable modes of transportation to client locations.
- Working toward the successful completion of the CPA exam.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work effectively on a team.
- Ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
